Patient compliance programs

Patient compliance is a level at which patients follow their doctor’s indications about the time, frequency and dosage of medical treatment.

Patients and doctors must agree on the treatment plan. Patient compliance describes a level at which these patients follow their plan.

Patients can be considered fully complying if they complete the following aspects:

  • take their prescription to the pharmacy and get prescribed medicine;
  • take their medication on their own according to doctor’s instructions and the insert-sheet. It means that they take their medication in a proper and timely manner, in proper doses;
  • to not take prescription to the pharmacy or to not get medicine;
  • to not take medication in accordance with doctor’s instructions or the insert-sheet;
  • to not finish a full treatment course.
